The 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility features a prayer center, 465-seat chapel, personal prayer rooms, and fully-equipped bookstore and café.

Inspiration Ministries today celebrated the opening of its International Prayer & Welcome Center, marking the completion of Phase I of its City of Light world missions ministry outreach and partner's center in Lancaster County, SC. Hosted by David Cerullo, its Chairman and CEO, the event was telecast live to more than 114 nations through the Ministries' networks, INSP-The Inspiration Network and Inspiration Network International.

The Grand Opening, the first event open to the public at the new City of Light, was attended by an audience of more than 600 people. Special guests included many local and regional political dignitaries, and several of today's most distinguished religious leaders, including Pat Robertson and Morris Cerullo. Special music was provided by Judy Jacobs, Alvin Slaughter, Alicia Williamson Garcia, Christ Tabernacle Choir, and Lindell Cooley.

The opening of the 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art International Prayer & Welcome Center launches a new phase in the history of the ministry. David Cerullo, President and CEO of Inspiration Ministries, said the new facility will be a boon to the fast-growing area just south of Charlotte, N.C. "When we announced plans to build the City of Light, I commented that 'this will bring heightened visibility to the region. We will be beaming programs throughout the world from our new South Carolina home, and one day will be bringing thousands of people every week to our headquarters.' The chapel in our Prayer and Welcome Center will enable us to begin holding live events, most of which will be open to the public." The first of the events was held on Saturday, February 28th, with a live Worship Event. Live "Campmeeting" telecasts will be produced from March 2-7 beginning at 7 pm each night.

Cerullo said that, in the coming months, Inspiration Chapel will host many concerts, TV productions, and other special events. A special web site has been established, http://www.thecityoflight.com, to provide information to the public about events that are taking place at the City of Light.

"We want to serve as a resource to communities on a local, national, and international level, whether it is providing a private environment for people to pray; a place for ministries to host conferences and events in our chapel; or a safe environment to meet with family and friends and enjoy Christian books and music. We believe that the International Prayer & Welcome Center will be an important resource for the community for years to come."

The Inspiration Bookstore and Inspiration Café will be open Monday - Saturday from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm and during special events. The private prayer rooms will be open to the public Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm. For more information call 803-578-1000 or visit http://www.thecityoflight.com/.

Inspiration Ministries announced plans to build the City of Light in January 2006. The Ministries' WorldReach Headquarters opened in February 2008. When completed, the City of Light campus also will include an International Media Training & Production Center, designed to train and equip "media missionaries" from around the world in state-of-the-art methods and techniques for using media to communicate the gospel in their native lands. Facilities also are planned to accommodate the ministry's other outreaches, including a Tea House and Conference Center for its women's ministry, a Youth Evangelism Center, a Children's Evangelism Center, and a state-of-the-art pavilion for concerts and events. The campus is being developed using a multi-phase approach and is expected to require up to ten years to complete.
