GMAC Insurance President Gary Kusumi Elected Chairman of the Board of
the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)

GMAC Insurance Personal Lines announced today that its president and CEO
Gary Kusumi has been tapped to be chairman of the board of directors for
the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Based in Arlington, Va., IIHS is a nonprofit research and communications
organization funded by U.S. automotive insurers. The organization’s
mission is to prevent motor vehicle crashes on the nation’s
highways and reduce the injuries and property loss in the crashes that
do occur. IIHS conducts crash testing at its state-of-the art facility
in Ruckersville, Va., and releases those results with safety ratings by
vehicle make and model. During his tenure as board chair, Mr. Kusumi
will be working to further IIHS research on safer vehicles, driver
behavior and roadway design.

Kusumi succeeds Richard R. McLaughlin Jr., vice president, Amica Mutual
Insurance. McLaughlin served as IIHS chairman during 2006 and will
continue to serve as a member of the board.
