Atlanta law firm Hill, Kertscher & Wharton, LLP recently held its annual firm retreat at the Cuscowilla Golf Resort on Lake Oconee in Eatonton, Georgia. The retreat has become a highly anticipated tradition, and provides an opportunity for the firm’s employees and their families to enjoy time together away from the office.
HKW partner Doug Kertscher said, “We started the retreat a number of years ago as a way to recognize our attorneys and staff for their incredible work ethic. The retreat is a way for us to thank them for their commitment to our clients, and also gives us the opportunity to thank the family members that support them.”
The retreat included two days of ATV riding, fishing, and golfing along the banks of Lake Oconee, one of Georgia’s most pristine recreational areas. The activities were followed by a group dinner at The Waterside restaurant in the Cuscowilla Resort, where attendees enjoyed steak, seafood, cocktails, and lots of laughs.
“At Hill, Kertscher & Wharton, each person is valued for the talents and work ethic they bring,” said firm administrator, Samantha Shub. “It’s a good feeling to know you work at a top notch law firm, and also that your efforts are appreciated. The retreat is a great perk that everyone looks forward to each year.”
In addition to making plans for next year’s firm retreat, HKW employees are volunteering at the 2012 Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Christmas Parade on December 1st. The parade, which runs down Peachtree Street, draws more than 300,000 spectators annually.
