Despite the fallout from the dot com bust, we saw the possibilities for the Internet and the opportunity to help businesses leverage digital media to build their brand and grow their business. Even with numerous challenges those first few years, we were able to sell our vision, create value for our clients and build a great team. We're honored to be recognized among this exceptional group
Spur Digital ranked as the No. 5 fastest growing technology company among the top 50, which have experienced the greatest percentage revenue growth in 2006. Spur's sales revenue grew nearly 180%, and employees doubled from 12 to 25 in the 12 month period.

To qualify for the Fast Tech 50, a company must be headquartered in Houston and a minimum of 51% of their consolidated revenue involved in the original manufacture, design or development of technical products or services. Each company must also have net revenues of more than $200,000 for both 2005 and 2006. During the past year, 354 companies expressed an interest in becoming a member of the exclusive Fast Tech 50 club, which was designed to promote Houston's entrepreneurial spirit, technology industry and economic climate.

In addition, Spur Digital CEO Steve Latham was selected from among the Fast Tech 50 Company CEOs to receive the distinguished Enterprise Champion award which is presented to business leaders whose exceptional companies demonstrate growth, industry leadership and above-average company culture. "It's been a wild ride since starting in 2002 on a shoestring budget," Latham said. "Despite the fallout from the dot com bust, we saw the possibilities for the Internet and the opportunity to help businesses leverage digital media to build their brand and grow their business. Even with numerous challenges those first few years, we were able to sell our vision, create value for our clients and build a great team. We're honored to be recognized among this exceptional group," Latham said.

Latham's industry leadership grew from a desire to help promote the growth of the technology and interactive marketing industries in Houston. Latham was a co-founder of the Houston Interactive Marketing Association and the Houston Technology Center, and chaired the Greater Houston Partnership's Emerging Business Council. "Awards programs like the Fast Tech 50 are instrumental in spurring growth in our technology sector," Latham said. The class of 2007 has been coined "The Youngsters," as they represent a much younger group of companies than Fast Tech 50 classes of previous years. Greatly adding to the legacy of what makes Houston a top-tier entrepreneurial city, the class of 2007 will have an impact on our local and national economy for many years to come.

In addition to title sponsor PFK Texas, co sponsors for 2007 Fast Tech 50 are Frost Bank, Oracle, Pierpont Communications, Winstead PC, the Houston Technology Center, Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and Fox 26/My 20.
