Marc Thee, Principal and Co-Founder of Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. gave top-selling agents a list of the top interior design trends at Christie’s International Real Estate’s Southeastern Agent Conference held at Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, FL.

Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. is recognized internationally as one of the top interior design firms in the world. Interior Design magazine has ranked the firm No. 1 for Residential Interior Design consecutively for the past 5 years and named them a Top 100 Design Giant for the past 14 years. Marc Thee, Co-CEO, is regarded as a leading authority on home fashion and interior design.

Marc Thee gave his list of the top home design trends for the upcoming year. On his list were details such as two-tone cabinetry, monumental windows in the kitchen, collection cases, open bath master bedrooms and visual piercings. “Trends excite home buyers, and trends stimulate emotion,” Thee said.

Attending Christie’s International Real Estate’s Southeastern Agent Conference were a group of the highest producing realtors in the world. Thee shared with these agents what sells houses from an interior designer’s standpoint. And how the interiors are what drive that emotional connection to a home and help enhance an emotionally driven sale.

“The statistics don’t lie,” Thee explained. “Staged homes sell in 50% less time than non-staged competition. Buyers form an opinion within the first 15 seconds of entering a home. Buyers tend to stay in a vacant home for an average of 5 minutes, vs. a furnished home for an average of 40 minutes.”

Marc Thee’s speech was centered on how to harness emotion through interiors and finding the potential in every home. He outlined that there are 6 components to a great space: edit, create backgrounds, find balance, execute courage, and add light and layers.

Marc Thee, Principal and Co-Founder of Marc Michaels Interior Design, Inc., believes the difference is in the details. Marc and the firm have twice been named by Architectural Digest as one of “The Top 100 Designers in the World,” and in 2002, Marc received the “Designer of Distinction Award” from the Design Center of the Americas in Dania.
