LiLu Interiors Receives First Place Design Award

LiLu Interiors designer, Lisa Peck, ASID is awarded a first place award for the individual room design by the Mn Chapter of ASID.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) December 16, 2008 -- LiLu Interiors, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota was awarded a first place award for residential interior design by their peers at the 2008 MN Chapter ASID awards. The awards ceremony this year was held at International Market Square.

The boathouse has wonderful views of adjacent shore and lake.

It is wonderful to receive an award for work that was gratifying to do. The design team who worked on the boathouse, the builder, and the client worked together in a collaborative way that allowed the finished space to be a magical place to be.

What is really great about this project is the fact that the client has found a renewed use of the space. They find they are entertaining and using it just for their family as well. It is the space that the client envisioned and bringing that vision to reality is what the entire team was focused on while working on this project.

LiLu Interiors won for their project Boathouse Nostalgia in the Individual Room category. Lisa Peck, of LiLu, says, "It is wonderful to receive an award for work that was gratifying to do. The design team was charged with creating a year-round lakeside retreat for empty-nester clients that would welcome visiting adult children. Every type of entertaining was meant to be accommodated from marshmallow roasts to bridal showers. The architects for the project were Albertsson Hansen Architects of Minneapolis.

The completed interior features a space plan cozy enough for two but flexible enough to support larger groups. The bright nautical stripe on the swivel rockers is suited to all seasons and practical because of its outdoor rating, Clear-finish rift-cut fir paneling balanced with a white ceiling and rafters to create winter warmth and an airy quality in the summer. All the furniture and finishes were selected to make the flow from the outdoor deck to the indoors easy and natural.
