Intermarkets, Inc. has retracted its press release mistakenly distributed via PRWeb on July 15, 2009 regarding certain information about the Drudge Report provided by a third-party source. Some of the information in that press release was inaccurate, and therefore the company officially retracts the entire press release and issues this amended press release.

Every day, more and more people rely on the Drudge Report for breaking news, as it happens. They're paying attention and they're engaged with the site, even during the summer.

Traffic to the Drudge Report climbed 21% in June 2009 over June of last year. "A billion thanks for making June 2009 the top June in the Drudge Report's 14-year history," said Matt Drudge, publisher of the Drudge Report.

"These impressive numbers show the significant and growing importance of the Drudge Report," said Kevin Lucido, CEO of Intermarkets. "Every day, more and more people rely on the Drudge Report for breaking news, as it happens. They're paying attention and they're engaged with the site, even during the summer."

Reflecting this strong traffic, the Drudge Report was ranked the Top Politics publisher in a recent MediaPost ranking of online publishing sites.

More than 12 million monthly unique visitors scour the Drudge Report for the latest breaking news. Visitors to the Drudge Report spend an average of one hour on the site, surpassing time spent on CNN.com or NYTimes.com, according to MediaPost. This average time also exceeds the combined times for washingtonpost.com, USATODAY.com, and msnbc.com. This viewer loyalty translates into the Drudge Report earning $14.81 in revenue per unique user (RPUU). According to MediaPost's ranking, the Drudge Report had the highest RPUU for the top 100 publishers on the list.

"As traffic to the Drudge Report grows, advertisers are seeing remarkable results. The sustained, high revenue per unique user metric proves that the site delivers strong performance across a wide variety of advertising campaigns," said Lucido. These campaigns include top brand advertisers, fundraising for both leading presidential candidates during the 2008 election cycle, and charitable efforts by Move America Forward, which raised more than $1.1 million in just two days last summer to support U.S. troops serving overseas.

Intermarkets manages advertising sales for the Drudge Report and continues to see steady growth in ad sales and visitors to the site since it started with the Drudge Report eight years ago.

The Drudge Report also ranked number one in Nielsen's Top 30 Online Current Events and Global News Destinations in early 2008.
