Talk, Inc., a Wilmington, N.C.-based creative communications firm, has launched Lost & Found, a localized Search Engine Optimization (SEO) initiative to provide local businesses an affordable and effective way to build their presence online.

"More than 90% of customers go online before making their buying decisions, so local businesses need to make sure they can be found easily online," said Debbie Elliott, President and Creative Director of Talk. "Most businesses today have websites, but many are very difficult to find because they haven't employed the correct SEO strategies. Another problem we see is that too many businesses spend a disproportionate amount of their marketing dollars on Yellow Pages advertising - both in the book and online. Those funds would be much better spent with a localized SEO effort developed by SEO experts. That's why we created Lost & Found."

Talk is launching Lost & Found by focusing on five target industries -- day care facilities, personal injury attorneys, chiropractors, jewelry stores and veterinary practices. Talk will accept three businesses per industry that meet the program's criteria. The first 15 companies to participate will receive a 40% discount on program rates.

"We decided to launch Lost & Found with a focus on five industries to ensure we had the time and resources to garner the best results possible for participating companies," said Elliott. "The program is limited to three companies per category to ensure each can obtain a prominent online listing within that category. We look forward to expanding Lost & Found to all industries once the pilot program is well underway."

Participation requires a six-month minimum commitment to ensure the best results. For the first 15 participants (three per industry), the total 6-month expenditure is $1,250 -- $300 for month one setup and $250 per month thereafter. This is a 40% discount over standard program rates, which will increase to $2,100 for a 6-month campaign following the launch. According to Elliott, Lost & Found is ideal for businesses that want to increase traffic to their website, build sales and position themselves as a market leader. Talk will accept applications online at http://www.talkinc.com through August 31, 2009. Once the pilot program is up and running, Talk will accept inquiries from companies outside of its five initial industry targets.
