Salt Lake City based event design company, In The Event sponsored the 4th annual Art Meets Fashion event held on Saturday September 8th, 2012 at Red Butte Garden. AMF is a Utah event produced by the owners of (a)perture marketing and is designed to showcase Utah based fashion and art in support of local causes. In The Event provided all event decor including a glowing dance floor, LED high boys, LED tables, seven foot chandeliers, centerpieces, mirrored pedestals and LED video towers highlighting event information. This is the second year In The Event has been a sponsor of AMF.
Heidi M. Gress and Anne Cummings, the owners of (a)perture marketing, are the founders of AMF. Heidi and Anne selected art pieces to premiere a collection of original works by local artists that was in tune with this year’s theme, Metamorphosis. Four local fashion designers premiered collections at AMF, showcasing men and women’s wear. AMF is geared towards a socially conscious audience that focuses on supporting local causes that make a region unique. Red Butte was chosen as the beneficiary for the event, with one of the reasons being the organizations focus on sustainability and eco-friendly practices. All proceeds from the event were donated to Red Butte to help support the development of their new Water Conservation Garden.
In keeping with the environmental awareness focus of the night, immediately following the fashion show several models were positioned in front of the band showcasing all repurposed and reused fashions by designer Heggy Gonzalez. In The Event tied seamlessly with the sustainability approach of the event. As an environmentally conscious company, In The Event strives to minimize the negative environmental impact of all events they produce. Their wireless LED lighting uses less power than standardized lighting, helping leave a smaller carbon footprint behind. Additionally, being an event rentals company they always abide by the mindset to reuse and strive to utilize as many recycle products as possible. “We love the value placed on supporting our local community at AMF, and with the added sustainability initiative of the venue this year we were thrilled to be a part of this event again,” says Robert LaSpina, In The Event Founder and Vice President.
All of the AMF event decor was designed to resemble the style of old Hollywood glamour, creating an elegant and sophisticated ambiance for the night, while still maintaining emphasis on the beauty of the garden. A video tower was positioned near check in to welcome guests and provide more information on AMF, and another was situated in front of the amphitheater stage. In The Event’s centerpieces helped set the stage for the runway show, with white feather’s placed in tabletop chandeliers that sat on the VIP tables. The runway show took place on the garden pathway in the Rose and Wedding Gardens. Two grand floral displays were set in vases atop mirrored pedestals, reflecting the garden’s flowers, surrounding the model’s walkway. The night concluded with a live swing band performance and DJ dance party. In The Event’s chandeliers hung from the amphitheater, overhead the swing band, that played from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m, followed by the DJ ending the night.
