Quel futur pour le podcasting en France et en Europe?

(PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- As the existence of the UN Broadcast Treaty reveals, podcasting happens not only in the US, but also in countries such as China, France, Denmark, and India. On October 20-22, 2006, the International Podcast Directories will team up to host the International Podcasting Expo. Partners include Podcast Pickle, Podemus, Podlook and Podblog.dk.

With Apple seeking trademarks for podcast related words, and the UN proposing an International Broadcast Treaty, Podcasting has moved to the forefront of international news. What started as a simple grassroots social media late in 2004 has become the center of heated debate. Yet because it is a grassroots media, it is growing steadily all over the world.

In October 2005, ABC News reported about China's Podcast Revolution among it's 60 million internet users under the age of 24. According to China Web 2.0 Review, the first Chinese Podcast Directory, Jack Gu's Podlook, had 15,000 channels and over 35,000 podcast clips back in November 2005. Podlook is one of the international Podcast Directories that is spreading the news about Podcasting by partnering with the online International Podcasting Expo.

Podlook narrated a Chinese version of the 6-Minute Video Tour of the International Podcasting Expo. Bertrand Lenotre of France's Podemus Podcast Directory and Danish journalist Karin Hoegh of PodBlog.dk narrated French and Danish versions respectively. Lenotre will present a seminar in French entitled, "Quel futur pour le podcasting en France et en Europe?", while Loic le Meur, the most famous French Blogger and Podcaster, will present, "What about European podcasting?" in English. Other foreign language seminars are presently being scheduled as well.

In the US, Gary Leland of Podcast Pickle, the world's first podcast/vidcast community, has partnered with the International Podcasting Expo. In August 2006, Time Magazine added Podcast Pickle to their list of 50 coolest websites. P. Dilly (as Gary is also known) also recently celebrated Podcast Pickle's 10,000th podcast. "So many people are just getting into podcasting, and not everyone can fly to an expo. This makes the online International Podcasting Expo the perfect tool to learn how to improve the craft," says Leland.

The event is held in online audio/visual conference rooms, with Attendees interacting in real-time via voice, text, and web browsing. Anyone with an internet connection can attend. In addition, all events are recorded for later download by seminar attendees.

"We want to encourage podcasting in every nation and language by offering easily accessible and affordable online training at our 3-D Virtual Expo site," states Penny Haynes of 1st Podcast Publishing, Expo Organizer. "At present, over 40 online seminars, workshops and networking events are scheduled for that weekend."

PRWeb is the official newswire of the International Podcasting Expo.
