The Intrepid Outdoors television series has been awarded "Best New Program of the Year" in the 2011 Outdoors 360 Programming Excellence Awards Airing on Versus, now part of the NBC Sports Group. The prestigious recognitions awarded by Careco Multimedia and Campbell Cameras acknowledge outdoors programming that raises the bar in regards to entertainment and production values.
"We are extremely honored to have been selected for this award," said Mike Schmid, Executive Producer and Co-Host of Intrepid Outdoors. "We are so fortunate to have a team that is passionate about improving the sport and dedicated to raising the bar with every episode. This award really fuels the passion to take our work even further."
Intrepid Outdoors is a unique hunting show. Although hunting big game is the primary focus of the program, the entire production team is dedicated to educating viewers about the importance of keeping our kids active in the outdoors, responsible land management, and the many issues concerning public lands. In fact, each episode dedicates a segment to all three of these topics. "America - Free & Independent" emphasizes the importance of keeping public lands public for hunting, fishing, hiking, and the exploration of vast energy resources right here at home. "Intrepid Kidz" promotes the sport of hunting to the younger generations as a way to build character, respect and responsibility. The team feels strongly that this segment is a crucial part of helping to grow the numbers of hunters, and preserve this all-American pastime. The "Challenge of the Hunt" segment showcases the beauty of nature, the friendships developed, and real-life (fair chase) hunting adventures.
The next season of Intrepid Outdoors begins this summer, and it continues to air at 11am EST every Monday on Versus, now part of NBC Sports. Visit the NEW http://www.IntrepidOutdoors.com for additional information, photos of the hunt, and more.
