"We prefer our clothes in the fresh air outdoors, thereby using no electricity," said an inventor from Houston, Texas. "However, there is a lot of construction in our area, and also the wind can blow dust onto the clothes, so the clothes can end up dusty, or wet from not being brought in when it rains. I wanted to be able to dry my clothing indoors in a more natural and energy-efficient manner, and which did not hurt my clothing, which led me to invent this appliance."
He developed the 2DRY4 vertical hanging clothes dryer, first and foremost to use significantly less energy than a standard electric tumble dryer. Reduced energy consumption by the user, will translate into reduced power-plant emissions, and may curtail the need for certain utility companies to expand their generation capacity.
Other design priorities were, hanging of garments to reduce wrinkling and abrasion of garments during the drying process. Dual drying chambers which can be programmed separately or can be easily converted into one huge drying chamber, deliver ultimate versatility and convenience.
Recycling of heated air using digital moisture and temperature sensors, during the heating cycle, ensures that unsaturated air is heated again, and not exhausted prematurely from the dryer. The recycling of hot air is very advantageous when wishing to sanitize pillows at high temperature for a long period of time. Electronic keypad entry features, include delayed start to take advantage of non-peak electricity rates, multiple programs which are specific to fabric, child lock on dryer door, direct drive fans, and very well-designed hanging bars and grids for the drying chambers.
