InvoTech system protects investment in high-quality designer uniforms
“InvoTech’s UHF-RFID Uniform System enables Mandarin Oriental, Boston to protect its investment in high-quality designer uniforms for its staff of 300,” said Alain Negueloua, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Boston. “Until now, we counted and tracked each garment by hand. This was labor-intensive and we had high uniform replacement costs. InvoTech automates and streamlines our processes with real-time reporting capability.” Mandarin Oriental, Boston sewed a durable UHF-RFID chip into a pouch on each of its more than 2,000 uniforms. The chip enables InvoTech’s system to track each garment’s movement from laundry, to storage, to employee via antennas placed at strategic locations.

Jeff Welles, vice president of InvoTech Systems, said, “Mandarin Oriental, Boston is perfectly positioned to improve its uniform processing efficiency and reduce lost uniform expenses.” UHF-RFID tracking technology reads entire bins of soiled uniforms as they are collected and travel to the laundry. The system also records where each uniform is stored and when staff members retrieve them for use. “InvoTech’s system tracks the number of times a uniform is washed and provides reports that enable operators to accurately budget for replacements,” Welles said.

InvoTech users include MGM Resorts International, Hyatt Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Loews Hotels, Marriott, and other leading companies. InvoTech’s international uniform system clients include the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel, MGM Grand Macau, Wynn Macau, Four Seasons Macau, Burswood Entertainment Complex Australia, Sheraton Seoul Korea, and Resorts World Singapore.
