You really need the very best sealed enclosures, ones that are capable of withstanding high temperature jet washing several times a day.
Fareham, Hampshire (PRWEB UK) 15 May 2013
ROLEC has launched IP69K versions of three of its most popular enclosures for electronics and electrical equipment: aluCASE, aluDISC and aluCLIC.
The move has been prompted by increased demand from companies designing and manufacturing equipment for food processing, pharmaceutical and agricultural applications.
Equipment used in food, pharma and farming must be able to withstand frequent washing down using high pressure, high temperature cleaners.
ROLEC’s aluCASE, aluDISC and aluCLIC metal enclosures have previously been available with IP67 protection. Now they can be specified with an IP69K rating on demand.
IP67 enclosures must be able to withstand immersion in one metre of water for 30 minutes.
IP69K electronic enclosures must be capable of withstanding 80°C water at a pressure of 80–100 bar and a flow rate of 14-16 litres/minute. The spray nozzle is held 10 to 15 cm from the box at angles of 0, 30, 60 and 90 degrees for 30 seconds each. The test device sits on a turntable that rotates once every 12 seconds.
The aluCASE, aluDISC and aluCLIC ranges are three of ROLEC’s most versatile enclosures for industry:
- aluCASE – high quality wall mounted industrial enclosures with integrated lid straps. Fixings are concealed under clip-on trims. These enclosures can be fitted while sealed shut, protecting the electronics inside. Available in a wide range of sizes. Options include transparent lids and also key locks.
- aluDISC – the world’s first round aluminium enclosures, designed to integrate aesthetically with pipes and other industrial equipment. Now available in four standard sizes. Applications include process control, monitoring, detection and flow metering. Can be mounted to a wall or machine while still assembled. Options include a hinged lid.
- aluCLIC – click-to-fit electronic enclosures for rapid installation and exchange. Can be installed with the lid closed to safeguard the electronics inside. No visible fixings, they are all concealed beneath the enclosure.
ROLEC housings for electronics are distributed in the UK by OKW Enclosures of Fareham, Hampshire.
OKW Sales and Marketing Director Robert Cox said: “Food processing in particular is an incredibly punishing environment for electronics. You really need the very best sealed enclosures, ones that are capable of withstanding high temperature jet washing several times a day.'
“IP69K is the best protection rating to specify for harsh conditions such as this – making your robust ROLEC enclosures even tougher,” he added.
ROLEC also produces ranges of IP66 and IP65 boxes to suit a broad spectrum of industrial electronics applications.
ROLEC weatherproof electrical boxes will be on display on May 16 at Electronics Sourcing Live (Stand ES33) at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes and also on October 2 and 3 at the Electronics Design Show (Stand L30) at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
