BrightCarbon Launches Visual Conversations for iPad Service to Help Sales Teams Get More from iPad Deployments

As use of iPad in business-to-business sales increases, companies are increasingly searching for guidance on best practice and content. One agency has launched a service to help companies make better use of their investment in iPads for sales.

BrightCarbon’s new Visual Conversations for iPad service brings together iPad sales presentations, questions and surveys, locally-cached micro-sites, and real time sketches and illustrations. The Visual Conversations service allows sales people to use iPads for visual sales conversations.
Many companies selling to businesses have equipped their field sales professionals with iPads. The iPad is popular in business-to-business sales because the device turns on instantly, can be handed to the prospect for true interaction, and brings presenter and potential customer physically closer together.

Providing effective content to use on the iPad has – for many companies – proven challenging. Some companies have simply used brochures, PDFs, or catalogue apps. Many companies have attempted to use existing sales presentations by transferring them to the iPad, often without preserving animation.

Richard Goring, Managing Consultant at BrightCarbon explains – “companies are attracted to the iPad for B2B sales, but then fail to take advantage of it. Instead of standing up to present for half an hour, iPad sales presentations should be much more of a visual conversation. We’ve expanded our range of presentation services to help companies take advantage of what the iPad has to offer.”

BrightCarbon’s Visual Conversation for iPad service creates visuals that are used by sales people in a natural way. During conversation, slides can be used to explain certain points. A variety of apps can be used, in a fluid way, as conversation develops. The iPad is passed back-and-forth, from presenter to prospect.

The benefit of this approach is that sales conversations seem fresh and compelling. As Goring explains – “the day will soon come where prospects are no longer impressed just because your sales reps use iPads. If you just use the iPad to talk through your product catalogue, you are missing a great opportunity. Prospects want something interactive, and they don’t just want to be talked at. Visual Conversations for iPad is going to change how companies sell.”
