In his latest post, Benny admits that, when he first bought his iPhone, he left it out in the sun and returned to a message warning him of the device’s temperature.
He now makes a point of keeping it in a cool place when the weather is hot. However, he realizes that this isn’t possible for everyone due to the amount of time that they spend outside during the summer. He reminds his readers that heat and electronics do not mix.
“We all know people will be taking iPhones out into 100-degree weather this summer. They likely will even be exposing that phone to sand, water, and sweat. But the iPhone is a sensitive electronic device, susceptible to damage if too many hours are spent in the heat, especially in direct sunlight” he says.
For those planning on keeping their iPhone outside this summer, Benny shares a few tips.
Firstly, he suggests keeping it out of direct sunlight. He shares the idea of keeping it under a bag or lounger chair. When it needs to be used, he suggests taking it into a cool area and letting its temperature lower before use.
Benny’s next suggestion is not to get the phone wet. He believes that this will encourage bugs to the device and possibly damage vital components.
He then suggests that readers consider buying a LifeProof case to protect their device while undertaking their favorite summer activities. While expensive, Benny believes that the investment is worth it.
Finally, Benny suggests always keeping the iPhone in a safe and secure place.
“If you’re going to be leaving it on the sand to play in the surf, consider leaving it in your hotel room or at home. Don’t leave it in your car, though,” he adds.
