The National Scouting Museum and the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB) have teamed up to offer special discount packages to Scouts and their families who want to learn more about the history of the Boy Scouts of America.

Located between Dallas and Fort Worth, Irving serves as the national headquarters for the Boy Scouts of America and the adjacent National Scouting Museum. The size of a football field, this massive, state-of-the-art facility features high-tech, virtual reality adventures with hands-on learning experiences, as well as the largest collection of Norman Rockwell Scouting paintings under one roof. The National Scouting Museum is also a tribute to the rich history of Scouting, with a historical collection that traces the Scouting movement from its beginnings.

The Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau Teams Up To Offer New Experiences for Scouts

In 2009, the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau offers special discounts for Scouts and their families at local hotels and attractions, in commemoration of the upcoming 100th anniversary of Scouting in February 2010 and to raise awareness of the National Scouting Museum. Scouts who come to Irving, Texas and the National Scouting Museum will enjoy hands-on educational experiences and opportunities to learn the history of America through the growth of the Scouting movement.

To further promote the anniversary, the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau has planned a series of gondola rows in cities throughout the US, leading to the centennial celebration in Washington, DC in 2010.
