Hankins and Anderson, Inc., winner of ZweigWhite’s Best Multidiscipline A/E Services Firm to Work For, has been officially awarded ISO Certification by KEMA Registered Quality, Inc.
To achieve ISO 9001:2008 certification, Hankins and Anderson was required to create a quality management system that includes a set of procedures that defines all key processes in its business. ISO 9000 is maintained by the International Organization for Standardization, and although the standards originated in manufacturing, they are now employed across several types of organizations.
“As we continue our growth, we recognize the need to establish and follow standard ways of doing business,” said President and CEO Michael Matthews, PE. “ISO 9001:2008 is a means to that end with the ultimate goal of providing superior service and quality to our clients.”
The implementation of ISO standards at Hankins and Anderson will streamline current business operations with increased quality control, standards and policies.
The firm’s Quality Policy states: Hankins and Anderson is committed to complying with requirements and continually improving the effectiveness of the quality management system in order to meet our client's needs.
“All H&A employees contributed to this effort,” said Carey Kendrick, Document Control Manager and ISO Team Lead. “Because of management’s dedication to client satisfaction and the employee’s commitment to compliance, H&A has a documented, robust quality management system.”
Hankins and Anderson is currently ZweigWhite’s Best Multidiscipline A/E Services Firm to Work For – the first to achieve this distinction.
“We are honored to hold this prestigious title,” says Matthews. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff and the strength of our company culture. To be recognized as a leader in the workplace is not only an accomplishment, but a goal we strive for on a daily basis.”
ZweigWhite’s Best Firms Awards are based on top workplace practices, employee benefits, employee retention rates and an independent staff survey.
Federal-focused, multi-discipline engineering consultants Hankins and Anderson merged with CMSS Architects, Virginia’s premiere architectural and urban planning design firm on April 5, 2010. The newly formed, H&A Architects & Engineers, is a unique A/E brand where commercial meets federal. The firms merged to shape future business offerings in the public and private sectors.
