Prior to joining Full Sail, Jones toured professionally as a musician during the mid seventies and, for the next decade, worked on stages and in studios nationally and internationally as an engineer and record producer. "It is a tremendous honor to receive this award," said Jones. "Full Sail University continually strives to remain on the cutting edge of technology with our academics, our labs and studios, and through leadership with and for our students. Maintaining relevant and employable education for the entertainment and media industries is one of the primary goals of the university as a whole, and we achieve this through the innovative nature of our degree programs both online and on-campus, that is gained through close and perennial contact with the industries that we serve. I look forward to an even brighter future for this great institution thanks to the creative, driven nature of our students and our staff, and the success of our graduates."
ITFlorida is a not-for-profit, membership organization that represents Florida's diverse information technology communities on a statewide basis. ITFlorida was formed in October 2001 after the sunset of the Information Service Technology Development Task Force, which focused on developing state policies to enable Florida to compete in the information age. ITFlorida built on the momentum of the Task Force and fills the need for a single statewide advocacy organization to represent Florida's IT-related technology sectors.
