5.9 GHz DSRC technology remains the only technology solution suitable to address active safety and time critical mobility applications
The eWAVE offers an unprecedented value proposition to auto suppliers, truck original equipment makers, third party integrators and allow faster development of the products supporting Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII) applications. It is ideal for testing and integration of the VII 5.9GHz DSRC based applications including:

  • Vehicle on-board diagnostic and prognostic
  • Vehicle Infrastructure Integration testing
  • Vehicle safety and integrated communication systems
  • Commercial vehicle applications
  • ePayment systems
"5.9 GHz DSRC technology remains the only technology solution suitable to address active safety and time critical mobility applications," said Justin McNew, CTO of Kapsch TrafficCom Inc. "The eWAVE offers an unprecedented level of integration of the 5.9GHz band which makes its deployable in various markets where "size" matters. Once 5.9 GHz modules such as eWAVE are integrated with consumer vehicles, there will be many applications developed to make this a robust onboard communications device. The tolling industry is just one sector that already understands the active-safety and mobility benefits of 5.9 GHz and the long-term need to communicate with every vehicle on the road."
