A leading search engine's Web spam expert has released a video announcing the company's plans and anticipated developments for 2013, giving webmasters and business owners a heads up in terms of the ideal online marketing practices that they can benefit from today. James Schramko, a Sydney-based entrepreneur and CEO of SuperFastBusiness, recently posted an SEO news update video outlining the search engine's important announcements and sharing valuable tips for building website authority and improving a site's overall performance and quality.

The search engine's spokesperson cited mindful content creation as one of the most important steps website owners can take to ensure that their site continues to provide good value for their customers as well as perform well in terms of online search rankings.

"For that reason, we moved to hand-created content and high quality content. Both and really focus on the hand content creation for humans, by humans. We know that the content is good and that’s why our sites are getting ranked and we’re getting good results for customers," Schramko explains, pointing out the organic output from his two content creation and website promotion services.

Updates to the search engine's two controversial algorithm updates can also be expected to arrive within the year — something that site owners everywhere (Schramko and his team included) have been careful to observe and accordingly adjust to ever since the first rollouts. "Ever since they were released, our Research and Development Team has been working really hard on identifying what triggers the over-optimization penalties, and we’ve put in place things that help our customers get better results," the CEO explains.

Other notable things that the Web spam expert warned about were the practices of getting paid advertorials (or links that are designed to enhance a site's PageRank) and maintaining bad link profiles. Schramko adds that there are indeed a lot of sites that have "thinly-veiled purchase or rental schemes" which site owners will want to steer clear of; it's still best to hire a company that will promote one's online asset using a vast array of sites that competitors will not have access to.

As for bad link profiles, Schramko emphasizes that getting links from a single place is sure to alert search engines on unfavorable practices; in response to this, his team offers a special website check service that can help clients see what their profile looks like and advise them on the next steps to take.

"What you want to do is have a very diverse link profile with different things coming to different pages on your site from different places — with different keywords and anchor texts,” states Schramko. “And some of those anchor texts will not be keywords; they’ll just be brand URLs or generic words. So make sure your link profile is balanced and looks natural. And ideally, it is natural because you’re putting quality content and it’s being shared by real humans. That’s a big part of our strategy."
