In “Strength of This Woman: A Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor” (published by AuthorHouse), author Jannelle Charlemagne’s powerful new memoir, readers witness a miracle in action as the author brings them into her world, a world filled with hope, courage and a zest for life.

After Charlemagne was assaulted one day, the doctors found that she had been left with a severe, traumatic brain injury. Not letting this hamper her, she took it upon herself to push through and get her life back in order.

Readers are treated to this encouraging story as the author takes them through a gritty, detailed recount of the assault that befell her and the obstacles that she leapt over to stand where she does today. “My book is an inspiration to anyone who is going through a storm in their life and for those who have been through a storm,” says Charlemagne. “It also shares determination to overcome a tragedy with inspirational values and a happy ending.”

An excerpt from “Strength of This Woman”:

“Faith opens doors for improvement and changes for the better; even though trouble comes, life goes on. Hard times happen, yet that doesn’t give me permission to give up on myself. It’s not what happens to a person in life that’s important, but how a person responds to what happens. It’s what a person makes of what happens in life. Despite my setbacks, pain, loss, hurt and struggles, I’m still making the best of a bad situation. Also, I hope that even one person, and hopefully many more, can gain strength from my story. My past is history and my future is a mystery. Life is too short for me to have a victim mentality. Every pain has purifying effects; my life’s a journey. Life is full of surprises and also opens new doors. Life is what you make it. I’d also like to utilize the bible verses that were used in the book, because they bring out some of the meaning behind reading the book and particular messages the author uses to express to the readers.”
