Javelin Direct Announces Joel Sobelson as Group Creative Director

Javelin Direct (http://www.javelindirect.com), an Omnicom Group (http://www.omnicomgroup.com) agency, has named Joel Sobelson their group creative director, charged with leading Javelin Direct's New York Creative Department. The position is based in Javelin Direct's New York City office.

He has proven himself to be one of the industry's brightest minds, and his appointment to the role of group creative director will help keep groundbreaking campaign development at the very heart of the agency.

    Sobelson will oversee Javelin Direct's creative output across a range of direct marketing channels including television, print, Web sites, interactive and direct mail. Leveraging past experience, he will help in the creation of award-winning integrated marketing communications programs, delivering messages to the right media channel and driving collaboration. Sobelson will lead Javelin Direct's creative direction for clients across a variety of industries, bringing with him extensive experience in the telecom, financial, pharmaceutical, technology, travel, liquor and consumer packaged goods industries.

Sobelson has over twenty years of experience in creative leadership roles with leading global agencies DDB, McCann-Erickson and FCB. He moved to Direct Marketing as executive vice president and chief creative officer at Wunderman New York, where he created dialogue marketing solutions that helped turnaround and redefine leading brands through the creation of both long term and short term CRM solutions. With Sobelson at the helm, Wunderman New York won more creative awards than any time in its history.

Sobelson is also heavily involved in the greater marketing community, participating as a judge on awards panels such as Cannes Direct Lions Competition, speaking at colleges through the Advertising Education Foundation's Inside Advertising Speakers Program, and being published as part of the new Praeger Press book Marketing in the 21st Century.
