Young adults can find inspiration, courage, and hope in the exciting book from author J.D. Kibler, “Babtoo and the Legend of the Spotted Zebra” (published by AuthorHouse).
A young boy named Babtoo suffers a devastating injury to his leg as a young child. When he approaches manhood, Babtoo feels his injury is a setback to becoming a Watinkee Warrior. While hunting, he saves an Appaloosa horse with a similar injury after washing ashore from a shipwrecked galleon. Having never seen a horse, he names the horse Enobi, “Mysterious Creature”
Together the two newfound friends work together to, despite their injuries, save the Watinkee tribe from invading cannibals. Through this act of bravery and fighting through self-doubt, the two become heroes and are revered by the Watinkee tribe.
Babtoo soon realizes he can overcome his personal insecurity and that his disability has not made him less of a warrior in the eyes of the tribe. Early reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.
*Alan Scott Jr. adds, “This amazing “Coming-of Age” story is masterfully written with a dynamic twist. As the story unfolds, the author skillfully taps into the emotional psyche of the reader and enables them to feel the pain, anguish, determination, and triumph of the main character. I found myself riveted to the book unable to put it down to see what challenges he would face next.
