In today’s economy, non-profit budgets are being cut and an increasing rate and important charities are being dissolved. Recognizing the need to uplift and support these important causes, Chicago’s Platform One Entertainment, an artist development, brand marketing and cause marketing company, launched Dare 2 Dream. The benefit concert and silent auction series harnesses the power of music and entertainment to create a platform for artists and brands to make life-changing impact for meaningful non-profits.
“Platform One initially developed Dare 2 Dream with a belief in the power of music to create positive social change in the community,” said Jeff Sodikoff, President of Platform One Entertainment. “In only two short years, we have worked with several international platinum-selling artists and our brand clients to raise awareness, support and funding for some of the most meaningful non-profit organizations through events at the House of Blues.
Music artists who have performed on behalf of Dare 2 Dream causes include Kings of Leon, Common, Cypress Hill, Talib Kweli, Gavin Rossdale, Gov’t Mule and Blues Traveler.
The Dare 2 Dream events have generated noteworthy visibility and funding for The National Foundation for Entrepreneurship, The Common Ground Foundation, The Chicago Alliance to End Homelessness, The University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, Working in the Schools, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Partnership For Cures.
"Dare 2 Dream and Platform One’s hard work and support have gone a long way in helping us improve outcomes for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer,” said John Cunningham, M.D., University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.
Another recent Dare 2 Dream event supported the Chicago’s Working in the Schools (WITS), a literacy organization that increases the reading proficiency and learning capacity of low-income and minority students in Chicago Public Schools.
Mayor Richard M. Daley has this to say, “I want to thank Dare 2 Dream for supporting WITS and showcasing its outstanding work and dedicated volunteers. Working together, WITS has mobilized businesses, government and the community to help thousands of low income and minority Chicago Public School students prepare for the future by improving their reading skills.”
Brand and corporate sponsors benefited from the non-profit marketing program by generating brand awareness, showcasing philanthropic commitment to the community, and targeting tomorrow’s emerging class of decision-makers.
