UTT had outgrown its current student information system and a technology solution was needed to support current and future growth.
Boston, MA (Vocus) April 8, 2010
Jenzabar®, Inc., a leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, announced today that it is expanding operations in Latin America and the Caribbean with additional staff, new business, and additional marketing efforts targeting the region. This initiative will capitalize on the market’s growing demand for cost-effective software that supports the mission and vision of higher education institutions.
As Jenzabar continues to strengthen its presence across Latin America, it is recognizing commitments made by higher education institutions throughout the region to better utilize software to increase constituent service and efficiency. A new Jenzabar client, The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), was established by the government of Trinidad and Tobago to expand tertiary level educational opportunities for the nation’s youth in the fields of sciences, engineering and technology. UTT has since grown into a multi-campus institution with eight campus locations including three schools and four academies. Its program offerings now extend to education, maritime, fashion and design, animation, agriculture and the performing arts.
“In just six years of operation, the University of Trinidad and Tobago’s enrollment has grown to over 7,000 students and this number is expected to increase. UTT had outgrown its current student information system and a technology solution was needed to support current and future growth,” said Ag. UTT President, Professor Michael Gray.
UTT explored several available SIS solutions and selected the Jenzabar EX Total Campus ManagementTM solution on the basis of its price, functionalities, vendor support and implementation time frame. UTT also purchased the Higher Reach by Jenzabar system for its short course programs. The university is currently implementing the Jenzabar SIS solution and is satisfied with the level of support and training provided by the Jenzabar team as it seeks to achieve its targeted milestones for implementation.
In helping support the market’s needs, Jenzabar recently appointed Gloria Davila as a Senior Business Consultant to help lead its Latin American and Caribbean unit. Davila Gloria has extensive experience in information technology within the education sector, and is joining Jenzabar’s International Sales and Marketing Manager, Joel Matos, in extending the company’s support across the region. Jenzabar is also offering a new Spanish version of its corporate website with the latest product information, news, and success stories that will help clients in the region better understand the technology benefits.
“The Latin America and Caribbean market represents a significant growth opportunity for Jenzabar and aligns with our strategy to expand our global footprint,” said Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Jenzabar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “By increasing staff dedicated in this area and offering additional marketing support, we’ll better serve higher education institutions in the region that are growing their IT operations and also strengthen our commitment to clients in this region.”
