We created the Jenzabar Foundation Community Network to help raise awareness for humanitarian efforts across the globe, such as the important work done by the Somaly Mam Foundation, and we will continue to profile organizations that are making a positive impact.
Boston, MA (Vocus) April 22, 2009
The Jenzabar Foundation today announced the launch of a new Web portal, The Jenzabar Foundation Community Network. The new interactive Web site will serve as a platform to connect individuals and groups within the higher education and social service sectors and anyone interested in humanitarian efforts serving local and global communities.
The Jenzabar Foundation Community Network is designed to connect individuals who are involved with or take an interest in supporting the good works and community service endeavors of student leaders. Public service is playing an even greater role at colleges and universities as the economic downturn continues and community organizations find themselves in growing need of additional resources. The goal of the new Web site is to provide an avenue for individuals and groups to learn about, support, and promote higher education's positive impact through its community and humanitarian service efforts.
The Web site is powered by Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution, an Internet portal providing Web-based self-service, communication, and community-building applications. The functionality provided by the portal via forums, chat rooms and direct links to social networking applications facilitates collaboration and networking between groups and individuals interested in the diverse service-related activities occurring on college and university campuses around the world. Prior to the Web site launch, The Jenzabar Foundation was located online within the Jenzabar, Inc. corporate Web site.
To mark the launch of the new Web site, The Jenzabar Foundation has pledged to donate up to $5,000 to the Somaly Mam Foundation, which is dedicated to eradicating the existence of human trafficking and sexual slavery around the world. Each time a new user registers on The Jenzabar Foundation Community Network, The Jenzabar Foundation will donate $2 to the Somaly Mam Foundation, until the $5,000 goal is reached.
"The Web is one of the most effective and efficient ways to inform and connect the community of the individuals and groups making a difference in the world today," says Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Chairman of The Jenzabar Foundation and CEO and Chairman of the Board of Jenzabar, Inc. "We created the Jenzabar Foundation Community Network to help raise awareness for humanitarian efforts across the globe, such as the important work done by the Somaly Mam Foundation, and we will continue to profile organizations that are making a positive impact."
