Jeremiah Weed Reappears on the Scene; Blasts Evan Williams Bourbon for Playing Politics in Presidential Primary Election

Mr. Jeremiah Weed Launches Websites and Announces New Kentucky Primary election poll at JeremiahWeedBourbon.com

WEED, Ky. (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) May 12, 2008 -- The Legend Jeremiah Weed, the patron father of Jeremiah Weed Bourbon Liqueur, has reappeared on the scene in order to re-introduce himself to Jeremiah Weed Bourbon Liqueur drinkers and to announce the launching of JeremiahWeedBourbon.com and his own blog, Mr. Jeremiah Weed Speaks. In his first public statement, which was released through his blog, Mr. Weed blasted Evan Williams for playing politics when the company sent bottles of Evan Williams bourbon to Democratic Presidential Candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton ahead of the upcoming Kentucky Presidential primary election.

Evan Williams bourbon is clearly distraught over the fact that in Indiana, Senator Clinton chose to sip a whiskey that was not Evan Williams bourbon
Evan Williams bourbon is clearly distraught over the fact that in Indiana, Senator Clinton chose to sip a whiskey that was not Evan Williams bourbon, stated Mr. Weed. This obviously caused Evan Williams to resort to political ploys to try to win the favor of Senators Obama and Clinton when they visit Kentucky, and in turn, unfairly influence the fine citizens there. In an electoral season full of strife and controversy, it is important for someone to speak out for the people, and as the patron father of The Peoples Bourbon, I am confident that the people will ultimately settle this by seeing past the gimmicks of Evan Williams and declare Jeremiah Weed Kentuckys true bourbon drink of choice.

News Image In the early 1980s, Mr. Weed received some level of notoriety when his name was given to the new bourbon liqueur, borne of long tradition from the hills of eastern Kentucky and East Tennessee. It is from this ancestry that Jeremiah Weed, the man, and Jeremiah Weed Bourbon Liqueur, trace their roots. Today, Jeremiah Weed Bourbon is a favorite drink of horseback, hunting and fishing enthusiasts in Kentucky and elsewhere and is a fixture around U.S. military airbases. Due largely to these loyal constituencies the unique bourbon liqueur enjoys, Jeremiah Weed Bourbon Liqueur has long been considered The Peoples Bourbon. This fact prompted Mr. Weed to take issue with the actions of Evan Williams, which Mr. Weed says undermines the electoral process.

In response, Mr. Weed announced a new primary election in the form of a poll on JeremiahWeedBourbon.com, which asks individuals to vote on what bourbon the Presidential candidates should sip when they arrive in Kentucky. By taking this issue directly to the people, we can move past political ploys and settle this issue in a democratic fashion. We can only hope Evan Williams doesnt send bottles to Super Delegates in order to try to unfairly affect this critical electoral process further.

People can voice their opinion by voting on the Jeremiah Weed website at www.JeremiahWeedBourbon.com.
