The HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 16 to 20 February, 2012. As one of the three largest jewellery events in the world, the fair is expected to attract over 3,000 jewellery manufacturers and Jewellery suppliers from around the world.

The global jewellery industry is in the final stages of preparation for a major trade event, HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2012. Meeting the high expectations of the industry for 29 years now, the fair's 2012 edition is significant in both its timing and its size, helping buyers proactively source jewellery products such as pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces.

The Asia’s largest Spring Jewellery Show has secured earlier dates - 16-20 February - at the world-class Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The five-day trade event will host some 3,000 Jewellery Manufacturers and Jewellery Suppliers from 46 countries & regions.

The undiminished market desire for high-end jewellery is indicated by a 25 per cent growth in jewellery manufacturers and Jewellery suppliers exhibiting in the Hall of Extraordinary, which features exceptional jewellery pieces with high quality stones set in exquisite designs. The diamonds and precious stones section has also increased by 15 per cent. Among them will be hidden gems to be found, as well as classic pieces to be appreciated, like the “The Eternal Collection” jadeite classified to be appropriate for permanent exhibits by the National Museum of mainland China, which is owned by exhibitor Fook Wing Tong Jade & Treasure Limited.

As well as being an important trading platform for jewellery manufacturers, Jewellery suppliers and buyers, the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will hold a series of seminars and parades during the fair, to disseminate market intelligence on topics such as the "Outlook for Gold in Emerging Markets” and inspire buyers with showpieces on live models.

The industry as a whole will be boomed by the creativity of jewellery designers, both established and aspiring, who are participating in the two competitions allied to the 2012 fair.

The 13th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition has taken 'Soaring Dragon' as its theme. In Open and Student Groups, designs are judged on Creativity & Innovation, Aesthetics & Craftsmanship, Marketability, Wearability and Topic Relevance. Being a finalist in this annual Jewellery design competition carries prestige and 2012 finalists will be announced during the Press Conference before the fair opens.

The biennial Chuk Kam Jewellery Design Competition celebrates the versatility of gold, inviting entries from the Open and Student Group, as well as a Fashionable Group. The design concept 'Memento of Love' is interpreted by the contestants through three themes - Love, Familial Connections and Friendships.

Finalists' designs in both competitions will be on display in Hall 1 Concourse throughout the fair.

Social and networking events will round out the experience of jewellery manufacturers and Jewellery suppliers and buyers at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2012. In addition to their trading and business discussions, they will be able to meet and mingle with other industry players in an informal atmosphere.
