The Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties, Inc. (JLKD) is proud to partner with United Way of DuPage/West Cook for the Kimberly-Clark Huggies® Every Little Bottom program. This campaign will help to raise awareness about diaper need and to help address this community issue. According to a new study, one in three American moms are in diaper need and struggle to provide diapers for their babies. These mothers have had to cut back on food, utilities such as heat and electricity, and child care in order to provide diapers.

To help local mothers, JLKD and United Way of DuPage/West Cook will host diaper drives in Kane, DuPage, Kendall and Will Counties from October 1-31.

“Participation in the Huggies® Every Little Bottom program is a wonderful way to further our mission to positively impact the lives of children at risk,” said JLKD President Rosemary Piedmont. “Over the next several months, we will promote the program and hold diaper collections to actively assist community families in need.”

The partnership between JLKD and United Way of DuPage/West Cook will have a continuing impact on our communities with the increasing need for diapers. “Forty three percent of mothers who struggle with diaper need say they need at least fourteen extra diapers a week to feel they have enough,” said Chief Professional Officer Christine Lewis. “Our collaboration with the Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties will help to make sure mothers in our communities will have the support they need.”

Community members may donate unopened diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream and baby supplies at the following locations from October 1 to 31:

  •     Bright Cleaners, Elburn
  •     Elburn Town & Country Library, Elburn
