Blue Ridge APICS to Provide Job Search Advice for Operations and Supply Chain Professionals

The May APICS meeting in Harrisonburg, VA will focus on job search advice for operations and supply chain careers.

Harrisonburg, VA (Vocus/PRWEB ) April 30, 2009 -- The Blue Ridge Chapter of APICS, in partnership with ISM, is hosting a professional development meeting the evening of May 12. The meeting will provide job search advice tailored to Operations and Supply Chain careers.

The meeting will feature Gary Capone, co-owner of the Waynesboro, VA based executive recruiting firm, Palladian International. Mr. Capone will provide resume writing advice and interview preparation techniques for job seekers. He will also review important topics for hiring managers wanting to improve their screening and assessment skills. The presentation will include:

 
  • Resume Writing Tips
  • Interview Questions for Operations and Supply Chain Careers
  • How to Prepare Interview Answers
  • Why You Should Use Behavioral Interviewing Techniques

The presentation is a preview of the presentation Mr. Capone will give at the annual APICS International Conference this fall in Toronto.

Attendees do not need to be members of APICS or ISM, and graduating seniors entering the workforce are encouraged to attend. The cost of the meeting is $10 and includes dinner. Reservations are required.

The meeting will be held at the Wood Grill in Harrisonburg. Networking starts at 5:30PM, with dinner at 6PM. The presentation will begin at 6:30. For more information, go to www.blueridgeapics.org.

About the Speaker:
Gary W. Capone is Vice President and cofounder of Palladian International, LLC. He is a graduate of the Management and Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where he concurrently earned a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor's of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business. Mr. Capone has experience in manufacturing, distribution, accounting, finance and human resources, gained from positions at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Newell-Rubbermaid, Kforce, Raymond James and Target Corp. In 2006, he joined the Board of Directors of the Blue Ridge Chapter of APICS and in 2009 was elected Chapter President. Mr. Capone co-authored the book, Power Up Your Job Search: A Modern Approach to Interview Preparation.
