John Hardy Jewelry Celebrates The Year of the Dragon With Its Spring 2012 Naga Collection

In anticipation for The Year of the Dragon, John Hardy Head Designer and Creative Director, Guy Bedarida, has expanded the brand’s signature Naga collection for spring 2012.

According to the Chinese calendar, 2012 is the Year of the Dragon, indicating a bright future full of energy and success. Symbolic in Chinese tradition as a token of good luck, beauty, spirituality and prosperity, the Dragon is considered to be a blessed symbol. In anticipation for the yearlong event that begins end of January, John Hardy Head Designer and Creative Director, Guy Bedarida, has expanded the brand’s signature Naga collection for spring 2012.

The Naga collection includes meticulously handcrafted sterling silver and gold cuffs, earrings, bracelets, pendants and rings that are rich with precious and semi-precious gemstones all depicting the figurative dragon head or its scale motif. In addition, John Hardy has also created special edition Naga Dragon Head bracelets to correspond with each of the signs of the Zodiac – uniting Eastern and Western astrology. Customers can experience the legend, inspiration and craftsmanship of the Naga collection and find out which dragon is representative of their Zodiac sign.

An old Balinese legend tells of a mythical dragon called the Naga, who boldly dives from the Tiga Gunung volcanoes and into the sea at twilight to visit his most loved possession, the Pearl. As dawn breaks, the Naga returns with water cascading from his scales, bringing rain to the rice fields for a good harvest.
