Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) March 25, 2010
On March 18, 2010, Full Sail University (fullsail.edu), an entertainment media institution located near Orlando, FL, welcomed clothing brand entrepreneur, John Earle, creator of Johnny Cupcakes (http://www.johnnycupcakes.com), to its campus where he provided a lecture to more than 300 students, staff, and faculty.
During his visit to Full Sail, Earle toured the campus facilities, met with Entertainment Business students, and completed his visit with a lecture focusing on several areas of business including: entrepreneurship, employee management, effective use of web and retail space, word of mouth advertising, customer relations and the importance of art, graphic design, and packaging.
In 2008, Earle was voted America’s #1 Young Entrepreneur by BusinessWeek, which discussed his customer loyalty gained through imaginative promotion and the company’s ability to provide quality merchandise featuring cupcakes as the prominent design motif. Johnny Cupcakes was also listed on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing private companies in 2009.
Since childhood, Earle took an immediate interest in business and by 2001, while screen-printing shirts for his band, he included a design with one of the nicknames he had received, Johnny Cupcakes. The design lead to numerous requests for the items and with increased popularity, Earle chose to keep his merchandise out of chain stores and to sell it exclusively through his own website and store locations. In 2005, the first Johnny Cupcakes shop opened in Hull Massachusetts, and was modeled after an actual bakery to provide customers with a unique shopping experience. Later, several other Johnny Cupcakes retail store locations would open in areas such as Boston’s Newberry Street and Los Angeles.
“Throughout their education, Full Sail University provides our students with a wealth of knowledge based on real world experiences, which includes professional industry speakers,” said Robin Anderson, Program Director, Entertainment Business Bachelor of Science Degree Program. “The story behind Johnny Cupcakes is so powerful and inspirational, we were honored to have Johnny visit our campus to share valuable insight into the ever-changing world of business and offer tremendous first-hand knowledge to our students, while preparing them for their future careers in the business world.”
