Get your motor runnin’ and head out on the highway this summer with Joie de Vivre’s Road Trippin’ California promotion. California’s largest boutique hotel company, with more than 30 hotels located up and down the Golden State, is offering sweet package deals with savings of up to 50 percent, plus great Road Trippin’ hotel rates for those who want to plan their very own endless summer.

The Road Trippin’ California packages start at $99 per night, double occupancy, and vary based on the destination. They include value add-ons such as free parking, experience-driven activities, and quirky amenities ranging from kites to waterproof books. The packages and Road Trippin’ hotel rates can be booked from April 20 through Sept. 6, 2010 for travel May 1 through Sept. 15, 2010 at http://www.roadtrippincalifornia.com. Unless otherwise specified, all Road Trippin’ California packages include one night accommodation, double occupancy.

Joie de Vivre has more hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area than any other hotel company and each of its properties in the region has crafted its own unique road trip-tastic package. For example, the literary-inspired Hotel Rex in Union Square is offering superb savings with an “On the Road” package starting at $159 per night and including two tickets to San Francisco’s Beat Museum, two REXmopolitan cocktails, a copy of Jack Kerouac’s classic, “On the Road,” and valet parking. The luxurious Hotel Vitale is offering a “California Fresh” package priced from $379 and featuring a $50 credit for a farm-to-table dining experience at its Americano Restaurant & Bar, a rooftop bathing ritual for two in Spa Vitale’s revitalizing infinity soaking tubs, Fresh brand bathroom amenities, valet parking, and house-made granola with a field note guide from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy to send you on your way. The Laurel Inn’s “Road Trippin’ with Rover” package starts at $149 and includes pet bed, food and water bowls, and dog toys and treats in addition to parking and cocktails at its Swank Cocktail Club. For travelers looking to chill after all that time on the road, the Galleria Park Hotel is offering a package starting from $129 that includes an in-room movie, gourmet white truffle and sea salt popcorn from its acclaimed restaurant, Midi, and parking.

Those seeking outdoor adventures amidst rugged beauty will enjoy Joie de Vivre’s three Marin County hotel packages. The Aqua Hotel in Mill Valley is offering a “California Hiking” package starting at $129 per night that includes the Hiking Marin – 141 Great Hikes in Marin County guidebook and an array of hiking amenities. The Mill Valley Inn package, starting at $194 per night, features the Tamalpais Trails guidebook by Barry Spitz, plus use of a daypack with a boxed lunch and detailed driving directions to trailheads. The Waters Edge Hotel in the oceanside village of Tiburon combines a ferry ride and outdoor activities on Angel Island in its Road Trippin’ California package, which starts at $179 per night.

For oenophiles, Sonoma County’s lovely hamlet of Glen Ellen is home to the cozy, romantic 23-room Gaige House. The inn is offering an unforgettable wine country experience featuring a hot air balloon ride with Napa Valley Balloons, post-flight champagne brunch at the acclaimed Domaine Chandon winery, and VIP passes to a Sonoma County winery. The package is priced at $619 per night – a major steal with all the quintessential wine country activities included.

The Avatar Hotel in Silicon Valley is offering a peek into California innovation with a geek chic “Techophile” package, priced at $109 per night. Included are two tickets and transfers to the San Jose Tech Museum of Innovation and a geeks-made-good “star map” of Silicon Valley tech giants such as Apple, Google, HP, Intel, etc. The Wild Palms Hotel is offering a “Pool Party” package starting at $99 per night, which features a poolside bungalow with refreshments and pool toys. The Hotel Avante’s “Let’s Fly a Kite” package starts at $99 per night, double occupancy, and provides guests a snack pack and kite to keep for their outing to Mountain View Park in Mountain View.

Heading down the Central Coast, the Dream Inn in Santa Cruz is offering a four-night Road Trippin’ package that starts at $1,300 and includes deluxe beachfront accommodations, a $50 gas card, and a $350 food and beverage credit that can be used at the hotel’s Aquarius restaurant, the poolside bar or on in-room dining. Drive further south along iconic Highway 1, and nestled on a hillside overlooking the dramatic Pacific coastline is Ventana Inn & Spa in Big Sur, which offers the ultimate romantic getaway or luxurious escape with its complimentary daily yoga classes, Japanese hot baths, breakfast, and sunset wine and cheese reception. The Road Trippin’ California Ventana Experience includes a $100 credit to be used at The Restaurant at Ventana or spa. The package starts at $500 per night and is available Sunday through Thursday.

SoCal natives the Red Hot Chili Peppers sang "It's time to steal away/Let’s go get lost/Anywhere in the USA" in their song "Roadtrippin’," and Joie de Vivre’s four Southern California properties give road trippers ample reason to head south. Hotel Angeleno in Los Angeles, Hotel Erwin in Venice Beach, Hotel Maya in Long Beach, and Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach are offering one-night packages that include two summer cocktails, a waterproof book for poolside or beach reading, free parking, breakfast for two, and a 20 percent off coupon for Kooney Swimwear.

Hotel Angeleno and Hotel Maya's Road Trippin' package start at $209; Hotel Erwin's at $249; and Shorebreak Hotel’s at $375. Joining the Joie de Vivre Hotels collection this summer will be the oceanfront Pacific Edge Hotel on Laguna Beach. Its Road Trippin' California package is priced from $275 (please note that this package will not be available for booking until June 15.).
