Expert trust and estate planning lawyer Jonathan Blattmachr of Eagle River Advisors is to lead a presentation on May 8, 2012 for the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council at their 2012 Annual Meeting taking place at Hyatt at The Bellevue. The program, entitled "Why 2012 Is the Best Year for Sophisticated Estate Planning Strategies,” will discuss how to take advantage of estate planning strategies unique to 2012.

At the core of his presentation, Mr. Blattmachr will explain the reasons for using the $5.12 million gift and GST exemptions before year-end, especially in light of the current administration’s taxation proposals. He will discuss his recommendations for specific structures to take advantage of these exemptions. He will also cover how "self-settled trusts" can be structured to avoid estate tax inclusion.

Attendees of the meeting will include estate planning professionals and experts from throughout the region, converging for an afternoon of discussions.
