Embedded Analytics
JReport is the engine behind our ability to mine the vast amounts of data being generated by the SaaS solutions we provide to the Federal government.

JReport, the leading embedded reporting and analytics software solution, was chosen by PowerTrain, a FedRAMP authorized web development and hosting vendor, to support their mission in providing innovative training and learning management systems to their clients. PowerTrain provides personalized talent and learning management solutions to Federal and commercial clients. These solutions include learning management systems (LMS), student information systems (SIS) and talent management system (TMS) that support mission-critical government functions.

PowerTrain was faced with a challenge of providing interactive reports, dashboards, and analytics. Their clients demanded sophisticated, custom reports with information that is automatically segmented by lines of business, university component, and degree programs, among other metrics. “We have a large demand for custom reports, and we were using our most talented staff to develop these reports, taking up a lot of our resources,” said John DeCore, Director of Innovation at PowerTrain.

PowerTrain selected JReport to resolve their reporting challenges and can now generate a large set of reports to meet the increasingly sophisticated requests of their customers. “Our customers are most impressed with their ability to interact with the reports. They can remove, re-order, and add data to reports. Most importantly, they can easily export any of the reports to a variety of useful formats include Microsoft Excel spreadsheets,” said Mr. DeCore.

By unlocking the power of insights in their web applications, PowerTrain now delivers critical talent and human capital analytics such as academic performance metrics, compliance with Federally mandated training statutes, expenditures on external training (SF-182 data collection), course completions and qualification/certification tracking of on-the-job, just-in-time learning and talent development events. John DeCore stated, “JReport is the engine behind our ability to mine the vast amounts of data being generated by the SaaS solutions we provide to the Federal government.”

“We are thrilled to be helping PowerTrain facilitate talent management solutions through better reporting and analytics,” said Dean Yao, Director of Marketing at Jinfonet Software. “Their web applications are now greatly enhanced in enabling customers to monitor their own performance and gives administrators the tools to better assess talent and human capital operations.”
