JumpTime, Inc. today announced that Skip Sperling has joined the firm as Vice President of Engineering. An industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in software development and leadership, Sperling comes to JumpTime after senior roles in the financial services industry, building complex trading systems and leading global technology teams.
Founded in 2007, JumpTime (http://www.jumptime.com) offers business optimization solutions based on its unique content valuation science. JumpTime’s real-time traffic optimization platform supports decision-making across many departments in a digital publishing organization, from editorial to business development to marketing and general management. Sperling will be leading the delivery of JumpTime’s technology, reporting to co-founder and CTO Andres Rodriguez.

Earlier, Sperling held senior management roles with Investment Technology Group (ITG), a pioneer in electronic trade execution and analysis. As Chief Technology Officer, Asia Pacific region, he oversaw product management, software development, support and operations across Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. Sperling also served as ITG’s Managing Director for core technology and analytical products, and Chief Development Officer. Previously, Sperling held software development roles with Merrill Lynch and AT&T Bell Laboratories.
“There are many parallels between the growth of electronic trading platforms in the early ‘90s and the recent emergence of content optimization platforms – both enable users to find inefficiencies, make business decisions based on optimizing across multiple constraints, and advance to the next level of market analysis and revenue generation,” said Sperling.
Sperling has a master’s degree in computer science from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the State University of New York, Albany.
