The piece captures a beautiful scene on the California countryside. A tranquil sky of peaceful blue violets hangs over rolling golden hills smattered with deep green trees. One smaller hill is completely green, with rows of lush grape vines lacing its slopes. The viewer can almost feel the warm West Coast breeze when taking in this unique landscape.
"We are very pleased to offer this outstanding piece by June Carey at our art gallery," said David Wilfong, spokesperson for World-Wide-Art.com. "It is a beautiful work of art and truly gives the viewer a realistic view of California's historic wine country."
Carey has been a full-time painter since 1982. She put in her time as a “starving artist” while raising her young son, but didn’t have to wait long to find success, as her work rapidly emerged as some of the best landscape painting in the world. Sell-out gallery shows and award banquets quickly became the new reality for this distinguished artist.
Of all of the landscapes she paints, Carey feels a special connection to California wine country, with its beautiful fields reminding her of her childhood home. She discovered the region on a late summer trip down the Mendocino coast, and she has been painting vineyard scenes like "California Wine Country" ever since.
As this painting masterfully demonstrates, the heart and soul of the region is truly the land itself. A Mediterranean atmosphere graces this expansive landscape, creating the perfect environmental conditions for one of the world’s most ideal grape-growing location. California is home to half of the wineries in the United States today, and the wine produced in this region is highly appreciated all over the world.
In fact, some strains of grapes have been in California since Spanish missionaries brought the plants nearly 350 years ago. Vineyards like the one in this painting have been cultivated for generations and preserve a unique history in the land.
"This painting truly captures the spirit of this area completely, and it’s easy to see why so many long for the tranquility and peacefulness of rural California," said Wilfong. "This painting has a mystical ambiance to it, and has a special way of transforming the appearance of any living space."
