SMCC Becomes the Juniper Network Training Provider for Arizona Community Colleges

South Mountain Community College teams with Juniper Network Academic Alliance to become the exclusive Arizona community college training provider

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 30, 2009 -- Starting in May, South Mountain Community College will become the first community college in Arizona to offer Juniper Networks training courses, to help students prepare for Juniper Network certifications and increase the number of Juniper-qualified network engineers in Arizona.

Juniper Networks is one of the leaders in high-performance networking, with their products and technologies running some of the world's largest and most demanding global networks. The Juniper Networks Academic Alliance is designed specifically for colleges and universities to offer Juniper training to their students, to help meet the increasing demand for professionals in this growing field.

Now more than ever before, business transactions, communication and everyday life depend upon the secure and reliable availability of high-performance global networks, and those who know to create them are in high demand. The job market remains excellent for certified networking professionals, commanding higher salaries and adding more value to high-end enterprises.

SMCC will offer its first eight-week Juniper training course, Operating Juniper Network Routers in the Enterprise (OJRE), starting May 11. The class is one of a growing number of classes provided online for distance learners; students will interact with the instructor, gain access to the lab, and complete tests from the Internet. The class runs through July 6.

Then, SMCC will offer Advanced Juniper Network Routing in the Enterprise (AJRE), which will begin August 24. This online Juniper training class serves as preparation for the Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist exam, and will run through October 12.
Tuition for each of these four-credit courses is $284 plus a $15 registration fee.

Students can enroll online at http://my.maricopa.edu.
For additional information, those interested should contact instructor Brittan Smith at 480.731.8866, extension 12842.
South Mountain Community College is one of the ten Maricopa Community Colleges. For more information about SMCC, visit www.southmountaincc.edu.
