I was in my office when the whole building shook
Richmond, VA (PRWEB) April 25, 2012
If you have ever been to a Nascar event, you know it is loud. On Friday, the employees in the office complex in the Dabney Road area experienced first hand just how loud the race cars can be when Denny Hamlin's car fired up in the parking lot of K2 Trophies and Awards. When the car started up, scores of workers flooded the parking lot to see just what was happening.
Mike Mahone, a worker in the area, shouted over the booming sound, "I was working in my office when the whole building shook. At first I thought it was another earthquake and I rushed outside and could not believe that a single car could make a building shake."
The Denny Hamlin Nascar race car is sponsored by Fedex and travels around the country promoting Nascar and, in this case, the upcoming race in Richmond, VA.
Robert Boswell, a Fedex Sales Representative, said, "FedEx greatly values our partnership with K2 Awards and enjoyed the opportunity to show our appreciation by having the FedEx sponsored Joe Gibbs Racing #11 Showcar appear at your location. Everyone had a great time, enjoying beautiful weather. delicious grilled hotdogs, and wonderful hosts. This event was a great way to give everyone a close up view of an actual NASCAR race car and to thank all the employees of K2 for all their hard work."
The Operations Manager of K2 Trophies and Awards, Wes McKinney has been a long time Denny Hamlin fan due to Hamlin's Richmond roots. McKinney commented, "What could be better than eating a couple of hot dogs and having Nascar come to us - particularly Denny's car?" Not as convincingly, McKinney also took credit for Hamlin's victory last weekend in Kansas due to the good vibes everyone gave him in Richmond.
Nascar Sprint Cup comes to Richmond, VA this Saturday April 28.
