KABA developed unique features for Starwood that will benefit its operators.

KABA Lodging, the provider of Saflok and ILCO electronic locks, inked a three-year agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. The contract extends to Starwood’s owned, managed and franchised properties in North America and other markets. KABA was selected via a competitive RFP bidding process.

“Starwood owned, managed, and franchise properties will enjoy a number of benefits,” said Mark McBeth, vice president of information technology for Starwood. “KABA has designed attractive custom door levers and readers specifically to Starwood’s requirements, and meets our specifications for RFID and on-line locking systems. They are positioned to be compatible with mobile check-in strategies.” The contract covers U.S markets— including Puerto Rico and Guam—as well as Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, and benefits Starwood branded hotels undergoing conversion, renovation, or new construction, including the Element and aloft brands.

“KABA developed unique features for Starwood that will benefit its operators,” said Kerry Hirschy, senior vice president of sales and marketing for KABA Lodging Systems.

KABA’s client support program includes the interactive Saflok and ILCO client websites that provide expanded online services to operators. In addition to KABA’s 24/7 365-day phone support, Starwood franchisees may utilize the sites’ extensive portfolio of training videos, support instruction, and multi-lingual documentation offerings from a secured login page to quickly resolve technical and implementation issues and get professional answers to questions.
