Dr. Scott Darling, a leader in Kansas City sclerotherapy at The Skin and Vein Center, attended the American College of Phlebology Foundation’s Executive Leadership Summit, an invitation-only event for corporate and healthcare leaders held in Chicago last month.
Dr. Darling, a provider of Kansas City spider vein treatment, wrote and summarized the mission statement for the Vision for Tomorrow Leadership Conference, the goal of which was to discuss the next five to 10 years in the field of phlebology.
Dr. Darling’s years of diagnosing and treating vein diseases as well as being board certified in phlebology and Vascular Ultrasound qualified him to attend the Executive Leadership Summit.
There were two important goals for healthcare professionals attending the Executive Leadership Summit:
Bring the leaders of industry and healthcare together to discuss key issues, opportunities and challenges in the field of venous disease.
Creating a road map that the American College of Phlebology and ACP Foundation can use to develop critical strategic plans and tactical initiatives to further the field.
“Forming a road map for the future of venous treatments and therapies is important so that the field of phlebology can move forward strategically,” Dr. Darling said. “This is an important field, and we need to plan for the future so we can treat patients even better.”
The foundation’s vision for the event is for it to work like a think-tank so industry leaders and healthcare professionals can work together to create a vision for the future of phlebology.
Due to the leadership Dr. Darling demonstrated at the conference, he has been assigned to the American College of Phlebology’s Public Education/Screening Committee.
