The Kaseya IT automation platform has helped us boost the efficiency of the IT department significantly, which is important given the range of countries we are responsible for
St. Helier, Jersey (PRWEB) April 23, 2009
Kaseya (http://www.kaseya.co.uk)], the leading global provider of information technology (IT) automation software for IT solution providers and corporate organisations, today announced that Otsuka Pharmaceuticals Europe Ltd, part of Otsuka Holdings, one of the largest research-based healthcare companies in Japan, has dramatically accelerated IT fix rates for 300 employees across six European countries, using Kaseya's IT Automation™ platform. By automating key processes such as patch management, audits and system monitoring, Otsuka is also ensuring maximum uptime and optimal performance of its IT infrastructure.
With sites across the UK, Sweden, Germany, Italy, France and Spain, Otsuka's small team of engineers are tasked with maintaining a highly dispersed IT network. Previously, the company relied on a break-fix model, whereby problems were reported to the help desk and an engineer then travelled to the machine to fix the issues. Using the Kaseya platform, Otsuka has centralised and simplified its IT support, enabling engineers to remotely manage and maintain all servers and computers through a single integrated web-based interface. In the event of issues occurring, the IT support team can get to the root of problems immediately, without leaving their office, which has speeded up fixes from days to minutes, providing staff with a much better service.
The Kaseya platform also enables Otsuka to schedule a whole range of processes such as automatic notification if critical servers go down, a user alters their configuration, disk space reaches a certain level, or a possible security threat occurs. This approach to automated system monitoring and repair has reduced pressure on the engineers and also minimised the possibility of IT issues and failures by alerting the IT team to potential problems before they manifest themselves onsite.
In addition, the Kaseya platform is helping Otsuka manage its IT security and audit process. The automated patch management feature helps to keep security holes closed and ensure that data and hardware remains safe. The automatic recurring network discovery and system audit also means Otsuka can keep inventory accurate and up-to-date, and use a web browser to quickly access the computer inventory information and manage the network efficiently from anywhere, at any time.
"The Kaseya IT automation platform has helped us boost the efficiency of the IT department significantly, which is important given the range of countries we are responsible for," observes Ali Khan, IT Manager-Europe, Otsuka. "Automating our IT support function and providing remote assistance and repair means that we can significantly reduce our support cycle from days to minutes, so that staff have constant access to the information and technology they need."
Phil Sansom, VP EMEA Sales, Kaseya, comments: "In just a couple of hours, Otsuka can undertake the same amount of work that would previously have taken weeks. This means that the company can manage workloads much more effectively and solve mission critical problems in an impressive timeframe. During challenging economic conditions, efficiency is key, and ensuring Otsuka's IT is problem free oils the wheels of the whole company helping boost productivity."
