New children’s book exemplifies friendship through tale of two dogs

Kathleen Showalter draws inspiration from real-life pets, granddaughter in ‘Adventures of Princess, Buddy, and Zoie’

Throughout “Adventures of Princess, Buddy, and Zoie,” Princess and Buddy form an everlasting friendship. Buddy also goes on many adventures with another owner, Zoie, a young girl based off of Showalter’s granddaughter.

Princess, a cocker spaniel, loves Mr. Allan and Ms. Kathy, her owners. They take great care of her, supply her with toys and love her unconditionally. Even so, Princess is still lonely. But this is all about to change with the addition of a new member to the family.

Kathleen Showalter tells the story of Princess and her friends in the new children’s book, “Adventures of Princess, Buddy, and Zoie” (published by Trafford Publishing).

Princess is thrilled when she gets a new playmate, Buddy. While Buddy’s only a puppy, the two immediately click, getting into trouble and playing non-stop. From bathing in the water dish to eating bumblebees, Buddy and Princess manage to find entertainment all around them.
