The poem might provoke thinking about one’s own wishes and their impact on one’s life and other people if they come true.

In her new book “A Dozen Deepest Wishes” (published by Trafford Publishing) author Katya Romanoff has crafted an epic poem which portrays 12 different flowers as people, describing their way of life and revealing their deepest wishes.

“My long-term fascination for flowers prompted me to compare flowers to humans: how would this or that flower act if it is a person?” Romanoff says. “Plus, assuming that all people have their wishes suggested not only to describe flowers as people, but also imagine what their wishes would be.”

An excerpt from “A Dozen Deepest Wishes”:

“Against the backdrop of summer’s green
The dandelions, those fuzzy parachutes
Are busy paving secret trails
To the four corners of the earth.
These fair-haired postmen
Carry wishes in tiny little envelopes,
Up there, in heaven, each wish expected
And for each, believe it, there is a directive.”

Romanoff hopes her readers will enjoy original descriptions of different characters living in today’s society and, perhaps, recognize them in some of the people they know. “Plus,” she says, “the poem might provoke thinking about one’s own wishes and their impact on one’s life and other people if they come true.”
