KDJ Advertising, LLC has announced the addition of a public relations division to its existing range of advertising and marketing services. Dan O'Connell, a corporate PR veteran, has been appointed president of the new division, KDJ Communications; he and KDJ Communications will be based at the agency's Wall Street office in New York City.
O'Connell has 28 years of experience in the creation and management of a broad range of public relations and related communications programs, with a particular emphasis on financial and professional services and business-to-business clients. Most recently he was the president of public relations agency Kodora Communications; previously, he headed the New York office of Shandwick, the then-largest independent, global public relations consultancy. Prior experience came at the Robert Marston & Associates agency, MetLife, where he was the number two corporate communications executive, Avon Products and E.F. Hutton & Company.
"The addition of KDJ Communications to our existing offering comes in response to strong interest expressed by existing and prospective clients, and makes us a truly integrated, one-stop resource for all marketing, advertising, PR and related communications services," said KDJ Advertising founder and president, Tom Score. "Dan was the only person we considered for this role, based on his impressive credentials within the same industries we prioritize, and our more than 20 years of experience working together in support of common clients at different stops in our careers. He further strengthens our senior-weighted boutique structure, which we find is increasingly attractive to a high percentage of prospective clients," Score added.
KDJ Communications will offer a full range of public relations and corporate communications services, including media relations and related training, branding, reputation and issues management, thought leadership and employee communications programs. These capabilities will supplement the already full range of advertising, direct marketing and creative services resident within KDJ Advertising.
"This role provides the ideal opportunity to blend my experience with that of an accomplished, senior-weighted team of world-class experts in advertising and marketing to the financial and corporate sectors," said O'Connell. "Our structure and service model will be fully integrated, allowing me to work with the KDJ team in the creation and management of truly synchronized and highly impactful programs for the benefit of the agency's full client roster."
