"We would highly recommend Ken Loomis Construction to anyone." - Doug & Kay Lowery
Sevierville, TN (PRWEB) June 25, 2010 –
Recently, Ken Loomis Construction received a call from Mr. & Mrs. Lowery of Houston, Texas concerning a water problem in their overnight rental cabin located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The Lowerys had just received news from their management company that the water connection to an upstairs toilet had broken, creating extensive water damage. The entire structure had been affected, including the walls, insulation, floors, cabinets and furnishings. Not only was it summer, the prime rental time of the year, but they had just sold the cabin. With their closing date rapidly approaching, the Lowerys needed help, and they needed it quick.
They began researching contracting companies to assess the damage. The Lowerys were told by one contractor that the job would take three to four months to fix.
“Being a thousand miles away, we needed help and someone we could trust,” Kay Lowery explained. “With our first experience with another construction company, the company came in $15,000 higher than our insurance estimate. Not only were they higher, but we felt they were taking advantage of the situation because we were located in Houston and because it involved an insurance claim.”
A friend of the Lowerys and former client of Ken Loomis Construction then recommended they contact Ken Loomis for an estimate. Mr. Loomis investigated the site, estimated the amount of work to be completed and gave his assurance that the job could be completed in less than three weeks.
“After several days went by, not knowing what we were going to do, Ken Loomis Construction came highly recommended,” Mrs. Lowery continued. “After contacting Ken, he immediately re-assured us he could complete all the needed repairs. He performed the work in a timely manner, professionally, honestly, and was extremely easy to work with. Ken made a very difficult situation stress-free. And, I can’t leave out that his estimate was comparable with the insurance estimate.”
With solid planning, the job took only two weeks to complete and cost even less than the estimated insurance budget. With the approaching sale of the cabin in mind, Mr. Loomis involved the new buyers in the selection process of 4500 sq. ft. of flooring that had to be replaced. With the Lowerys approval, the Florida buyer worked with the construction company and the realtor to choose new flooring for the cabin.
After the work was completed, the sale of the cabin went through seamlessly. Completely pleased with how the job was finished and with the thoughtfulness to include them in the decision-making process, the new owners have contacted Ken Loomis Construction to discuss some more work that they want done once they relocate to Gatlinburg.
As for the Lowerys, their attitude towards repairs has completely changed. Mrs. Lowery said, “Insurance Claims can often be a scary adventure when dealing with your home. We all pay a monthly fee to our insurance companies to cover any mishaps that may happen, but do we think about who is going to take care of our home when it occurs? It is refreshing to know that there are honest construction companies out there to help property owners, especially during the most crucial time of the year for rentals. We would highly recommend Ken Loomis Construction to anyone."
