Kenmode Precision Metal Stamping heavily invests in training for more effective leadership, continuous improvement in quality, and greater reliability and safety of operations.

We have seen our investment in training pay off in our ability to achieve global quality standards, deliver consistent quality and value to clients and win new business.

Now in its fiftieth year, Kenmode Precision Metal Stamping is ramping up its comprehensive training program for managers and employees at all levels in order to better compete in the global marketplace. The training emphasizes more effective leadership, continuous improvement in quality, and greater reliability and safety of operations.

The entire management team of Kenmode recently completed a two-year leadership course, which brought managers together each month to address challenges and share ideas.

“Over the last several years, we have made a huge investment in training throughout the organization,” said Kurt Moders, President of Kenmode. “We have seen that investment pay off in our ability to achieve global quality standards, deliver consistent quality and value to our clients and win new business.”

Quality training at all levels, including tool design, engineering, production, and administration, is ensuring that Kenmode can consistently meet the most stringent international standards in precision metal stamping. In recent years, Kenmode achieved two industry-specific certifications developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO): ISO/TS 16949 for the automotive industry and ISO 13485:2003 for the medical device industry. Since 1994, Kenmode has maintained its overall ISO 9001 standard for the manufacture of high-speed precision metal stampings and the assembly of metal components. A combination of training on quality processes, corrective procedures and internal audits has enhanced internal quality metrics while delivering zero defects, minimizing scrap and meeting on-time deliveries for customers worldwide. In production set-up and operations, Kenmode has created multifaceted training specific to particular jobs, as well as to overall operations. In conjunction with the Tooling and Manufacturing Association (TMA), Kenmode developed new position-specific competency training and safety training programs. For more than two years, all production employees have been taking extensive training on all aspects of machine operations, use of support equipment, quality, safety and housekeeping. Kenmode also introduced a new training program devoted to blueprint reading along with getting a basic understanding of geometric tolerances. As a foundation for all operations training, enhanced safety training for all employees has met best practices and compliance goals, resulting in a significant reduction in incidents.
