We always knew that consumers were going to love The Kickrest, we just did not expect being offered such an awesome opportunity after only being in the marketplace for two weeks.

The worlds first footrest with an integrated fleece hood and a non-slip base is enjoying a boost in sales after its first major network exposure. The product, officially called The Kickrest, has been on the market since November 2011 and has an ever growing national customer base now thanks to the DIY Network.

The series ‘I Want That’ is a show that tours its viewers through the latest and greatest products for the home. “Every half-hour episode is packed with in-depth profiles and highlights of a dozen of the hottest ‘must haves’ for every home,” says the network that is one of the fastest growing and in more than 56 million homes.

Only two weeks after The Kickrest’s product launch, DIY contacted the Kickrest’s owner and inventor, Caleb Gurall, to see if they could feature the revolutionary foot pillow on the first season of ‘I Want That.’ According to the owner the product recognition from DIY arrived with a bit of surprise to the company; “We always knew that consumers were going to love The Kickrest, we just did not expect being offered such an awesome opportunity after only being in the marketplace for two weeks,” says the inventor.

When Caleb Gurall created the first Kickrest he never imagined that it would become a household product, he just did it to keep comfortable. When his college-era lounge chair and ottoman were replaced by an immaculate living room set that he and his wife were proud to come home to nothing remained but a coffee table to rest his feet on. Without a readily available solution, Caleb fabricated a custom foot pillow that soon evolved into a pre-game conversation piece when friends came by to watch Sunday afternoon football.

The product is now available in various colors and can be purchased online with any major credit card. Its signature features are designed around a memory foam core, engineered to support the weight of one’s feet and legs. This support comes in a thin profile package so that the user may store the product out of sight when it is not in use. Patent pending features include a fleece cover with an integrated ‘foot hood’ and a substrate the company calls ‘table grip technology,’ this feature protects furniture and allows added stability for the user.

The company, founded in Vermont, encourages customers to “kick it” in comfort by purchasing a foot rest to put the coffee table to good use.
