VidyaBooks, LLC, a San Francisco niche publisher that features children’s books, multi-cultural books, textbooks and more, invites creative writers and multimedia enthusiasts to participate in its three online contests for short story writing, poetry writing and multimedia. The contests are open to the public to the 21 and over age group. Entries for short stories and multimedia are currently being accepted until March 24 at 5 p.m., PDT. Entries for the poetry genre will be accepted until May 31 at 5 p.m., PDT. The entry fee for each category is $10, payable during online entry.
“This is an exciting event for creative writers to feature their original talent and imaginations,” Rashmi Singh of VidyaBooks, LLC said. “Great publicity and prizes await the winners.”
The short stories may include any topic but have a limit of 5,000 words. The multimedia (use YouTube as a model) may feature any topic, without limitations on the duration of the presentation. The poetry may also be written about anything but has a computer count limit of 2,000 words.
The winners for each competition will receive a $100 credit voucher that may be used to purchase any material on the VidyaBooks website. The winning pieces will be published online by VidyaBooks, and the authors of the winning short story and poetry will each be profiled on the VidyaBooks website as published online authors.
VidyaBooks, LLC, is an independent publisher that now features online publishing. Writers who want their manuscripts to see print, while still maintaining control over their texts, may discover VidyaBooks to be an ideal partner. Founded in 1991, VidyaBooks used to publish only materials on South Asian and Indian history for educational kids books aimed at the K-12 market. Two decades later, this publisher has expanded to an online publishing format, and to materials suitable for all ages and on all topics, yet it retains the Print On Demand option (for those who prefer to read a book on paper) for some books.
VidyaBooks features a host of fiction and nonfiction, poetry, short stories, articles, essays, children’s books, multicultural books and multimedia, along with educational materials like online textbooks, lesson plans and booklets on its website.
